چکیده
Abstract. Hydroxymethanesulfonate (HMS) has recently been identified as an abundant organosulfur compound in aerosols during winter haze episodes northern China. It also detected other regions although the concentrations are low. Because of sparse field measurements, global significance HMS and its spatial seasonal patterns remain unclear. Here, we modify add to implementation chemistry GEOS-Chem chemical transport model conduct multiple simulations. We present a rst description and evaluation of GEOS-CHEM, a global three-dimensional model of tropospheric chemistry driven by assimilated meteorological observations from the Goddard Earth Observing System (GEOS) of the NASA Data Assimilation OOce (DAO). The model is applied to a 1-year simulation of tropospheric ozone-NO x-hydrocarbon chemistry for 1994, and is evaluated with observations bot...
متن کاملQualitative Modeling and Heterogeneous Control of Global System Behavior
Multiple model approaches to the control of complex dynamical systems are attractive because the local models can be simple and intuitive, and global behavior can be analyzed in terms of transitions among local operating regions. In this paper, we argue that the use of qualitative models further improves the strengths of the multiple model approach by allowing each local model to describe a lar...
